In 2021 after the birth of my son I developed debilitating postpartum anxiety, depression, birth trauma related PTSD and an even rarer and more serious condition, psychosis. As a healthcare professional myself, I was deeply saddened by the lack of awareness, screening and support offered to new families facing these struggles. It took months for my symptoms to be properly managed and I still never felt completely “seen” or the depths of my condition understood.
- Together with PSI I will continue to advocate for women’s perinatal mood disorders to be recognized and to allow women to heal with dignity and grace while navigating through such an incredibly sensitive time in their lives.
How does PSI help?
- A program of Postpartum Support International (PSI), The Climb is the world’s largest event dedicated to raising awareness & understanding of perinatal mental health disorders. Hosted annually in summer and fall, volunteers organize community events to offer connection points between parents, professionals, and support services, while fundraising for care during this critical period of time. We gather in recognition of each individual’s Climb out of perinatal mental health complications, and onto recovery.
- PSI provides direct peer support to families, trains professionals, and provides a bridge to connect them. It is our vision that every parent and family worldwide will have access to information, social support, and informed professional care to deal with mental health issues related to childbearing.

Let’s get together! The Climb brings communities together to shine a light on a darkness we often don’t speak about. We share stories of hope and celebrate recovery as we gather together to raise awareness, give a voice to those who no longer have one, and walk together to symbolize our recovery. Climb events are part community connection / part fundraiser for survivors, providers, and members of the community to give and received much-needed support.
